Meet our Guest Designer's for Challene #24
Here are the beautiful creations of the Guest Designers

Leslie GD

My name is Leslie, I'm married with two grown children and one granddaughter, and I live in north Florida. I began scrapbooking about 40 years ago, way back when scrapbooks were really bland - before all the fun papers and embellishments came about. For the last 20 years or so, my paper passion has been card making. I started out making computer-generated cards, graduated to card kits, then quickly realized that having my own stash of stuff was the way to go! The rest is history, as they say! I'm addicted to rubber stamping and also enjoy making 3-D paper projects, especially paper shoes and mini albums, and have been known to alter a few tins and boxes. Thanks to my sister, I also started beading and making jewelry about a year or so ago. A huge thanks to Rachelle and the Scrapping4funChallenges crew for having me on board for Challenges #24 and #25. Looking forward to getting inky fingers with all of them! ;)

Technique - Watercolor

Susan GD

I live in the state of Georgia in the good ole' south where they call us all Georgia Peaches! LOL I am the wife to a wonderful man, Kevin, who is from Australia. He is very tolerant of my crafting!! I am a mother of three, Taylor (20), Michael (15) and Bailey (13). We have  two dogs, T-Bone and Brisket and two cats Highlight and White-Out. Do you see our theme? LOL The dogs are named after cuts of beef LOL and the cats are office supplies LOL!!! I know.. we are very goofy!! I have been crafting since the dawn of ages. Okay.. maybe that is a little bit of an exaggeration, but I first found a small scrapbooking store right after I had Taylor.. so that is 20 years ago!!! During a bad marriage my crafting fell off. When Kevin and I got together I pulled all of the crafting supplies out of the garage to see if I could have a go at it again. Wow!!  I missed it so much. But then I found blogs!! And cards!!! And challenges!!! LOL  A whole new world opened up for me!!  I couldn't believe it all existed and I didn't know anything about it.  I have met so many wonderful people in the crafting community and I am always looking forward to meeting new crafters!!

Technique - Decoupage

Maia GD

My name is Maia, i am 53 years old, mother off two teenagers and part time Elementary school teacher.
I like to work with young children at school because they are so cute and learn so fast.
I love to do all sorts off crafts and folding lessons with them.
At home I use my spare time to discover all sorts off crafts and techniques i mostly find on the internet .
I like to scrap, make cards,  mini books, altered art things and i also like to crochet little things.
I love to inspire people on my blog and on youtube and i cherish the scrappy friends all over the world and here in the Netherlands.
I hope I have inspired you with these two hearts.
Big hugs and love
X0x0x0x0 Maia
Technique
First I cut the hearts out of a cardboard box and painted them with white gesso.

The first layer are decoupaged torn napkins with flower prints, the little vintage girls also are decoupaged napkin images. I did some layering with old lace, feathers and home made egg carton flowers.
This is the link to my eggcarton flower tutorial on my blog:
Further I used white gesso, embossings enamel frantage and vintage foto distress inkt to give the creation a vintage/shabby look.
So i think the techniques i used are: decoupage, embossing, layering and collage.

Jill GD

I live in Somerset, Pennsylvania with my husband, our 15 year old daughter and six year old son. I am a high school mathematics teacher and use scrapbooking as my creative outlet. I have been crafting since I was a child, but in 2003 I fell in love with scrapbooking and it has become my favorite hobby. Of course my family photos are always my  inspiration for my layouts. In 2010 I started a blog and love participating in all the fun challenges! Thank you Scrapping4funChallenges for having me as Guest Designer. It is a big honor for me!

Technique
My technique for the page is embossing. I embossed the hexagons and the title with my cuttlebug, but the journaling is actually embossed as well. I cut 3/8 "strips of core'dination cardstock and placed it into my old fashion Dymo label maker, and then I used the label maker to emboss the journaling onto the paper. After I took the paper out of the label maker I inked it with some black ink to make the letters stand out.

Thank you Ladies

We hope our designers have you inspired. We can't wait to see your creations and we hope that you will join and share them with us!

  2. Hi Rachelle,
Thank you again for having me as a dt guest designer for this challenge!
Wow the other lady's made gorgeous creations i love them all.
In my blog post you will find two hearts, the first one is the one you see here on the blog....sorry this little girl isn't a napkin transfer but the girl on my second heart is a "napkin girl". You can create great backgrounds when you use napkins like i did.
Good luck and have fun creating something for this nice challenge.
    Have a nice weekend!

  5. What a fantastic challenge! I have entered my summer flower box. I used my two favourite techniques 1- my home-made crackle paint texture on the lattice, which looks like wood and 2- for the box I used my home-made texture paste with a stencil to give it a 3d dimensional look, I use the palette knife to tap the paste with, giving it a natural uneven look!

Such gorgeous DT work, thanks for the inspiration! hugs :)
